ą rozegrała się 1 października 331 p.n.e. pomiędzy wojskami macedońskimi Aleksandra Wielkiego a armią perską króla Dariusza III. In the Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BC Alexander the Great of Macedonia defeated Darius III of Persia. The battle is also inaccurately called the Battle of Arbela.

Well, I have not seen the movie, but the battle of Issos took place in the hills, whereas the battle of Gaugamela was battled on the flat place. Also at Gaugamela Dareios ran away from the battle. Here we see a flat place and Dareios fleeing. So I think this IS the battle of Gaugamela.
