certainly one of my favourite euro songs ! along with "Mocedades - Eres tu - Spain" and apres Toi and LULU!! - with the break up of the comunist states and instead of panel of people voting the winners will now come those councils and the normal winners , england, france spain and germany will never have a hope in hell of winning again so lets bring back the panel or divide the contest into two divisions of winners and then have a mai winner from the top four in each group! any comments please

We can agree on the quality of the song. I remember it well from my youth in the UK and it took me quite a while to remember the name of the singer and then find it.
But sorry, Ron. Please leave out the anti-Eastern European comments. I have travelled widely in the former Soviet block and settled in Prague nine years ago. I adore the place and the people and can assure you there are some amazingly talented songwriters and musicians in this part of the world.

song indubitably is more beautiful than Waterloo and it's the real winner of the 1974 ESC, so I can't see why this amazing melodic entry should have won in any other year when it's largely reputed the best song of that year's contest .
Anyway that type of classification as " Best winner song of ESC history" or " All time most liked song " or any else, is only a poor & senseless one.
