nah, that's for sure, but I don't necessarily respect Emos either. I don't diss them or make fun of them, I live and let live, but I don't agree with suicidal tendencies. You kill yourself, you kill yourself, but don't write about it to the public, don't sing it to the public and instead of mutilating yourself, seek psychological help. Suicidal thoughts are NOT an emotion, they're an actual psychological imbalance.

Why the fuck does everyone keep thinking RA is an emo band? Go listen to Silverstein or Disco Ensemble, you'll see what REAL emo is. Rise Against doesn't talk about how their lives suck and how they can't deal with life and about how they wanna' just shoot everyone in the face. They talk about world reality being it political or environmental... and once in a while, they release a song that talks about enjoying life... and when they do, people automatically call it emo. It's NOT emo!

dont get me wrong,i love RA,infact this is my favourite song by them but emo music usually has alot of the components used in making songs like this,for instance the soft lead singers voice,no metal music a good rhythm etc.

What??? Emo music is heavy, distorted, electronic metal. I don't know if you've ever heard Tim's voice in his other songs, but it's definately not soft. It's not screamo, neither is it Linkin' Park yelling. It's just loud and rough and melodic at the same time. lol This is DEFINATELY not an Emo song... nothing close. I'd say "State of the Union" is the song that sounds the most like Emo.. yet there's NOTHING emo about its lyrics.
