As far as the popular drummers today, the only ones that can really be mentioned in the same sentence are...well, Danny Carey of Tool fame. And Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta fame. Travis Barker actually IS a good drummer. Very technically skilled. Not saying he's Weckl caliber, if you think so you're wrong. But in his defense, he can hold his own against most of today's drummers.

Have you seen Dave in his twenties (the Chick Corea days)? He was playing even crazier stuff than he is now.... He was 28-29 when he did the Back to the Basics video and he was killer. Barker is 32, and as far as I know, Weckl was lightyears ahead of Barker, even when he was younger than Barker is now.

Guys, I only want to post this once. Please don't compare Travis Barker to Mr. Weckl. Dave is an accomplished and mature musician capable of various drumming styles and techniques. Travis Barker is an okay drummer, but his music is targeted at pre-teens, and I doubt he's capable of playing anything other than 4/4 rock.
