From punk's big year- 1977 - comes the relatively sophisticated sound of Australia's The Saints with 'This Perfect Day'. Coming from the boondocks of Queensland to record and play live in Sydney, they were a four-man group led by a German immigrant and with a Kenyan-born, part-Belfast-raised lead
singer.

I was born in 1961 which would place me in the punk era during my teens. They were exciting times, and the music industry needed a big shake up................and it got it. There were classic tracks, and also a pile of dross, but amongst it all were tracks like this that 'angry' bands of today could record. Other tracks that could similarly be released (by an 'angry' female) are those by X-Ray Spex.
