Regardless of wether they felt hurt or zeal or indignance, thats their motivation. I think its valid to explore the other sides motivation! If people had listened to that poor girls problems she probably wouldnt have decided to pick up that gun and go on a killing spree.The same can be said about September 11th if you scale up the idea. If there were greater equality and understanding between nations and races while we will always be different we wouldnt be at war. Its vital to "Sing both sides"

Hahahahaha. Please, tell me you were having a joke there. Remember the birth of Islam? That was during a time of great equality and understanding, more so than our current time. Yet they still went to war, because of a thing called "Religion". Because of a thing called "Difference". How many wars are started due to difference? Hmmmmmm. All the wars in the ancient times, and stunningly, all the wars in modern times as well! Its amazing how you completely failed.

Way to miss the point Dsarker. I was saying that difference isnt a problem, its lack of understanding of that difference, and an unwillingness to explor other peoples beliefs or problems to reach a compromise. Its vital to see both sides of an arguement to prevent more from occuring in future. Not trusting another races "Difference" as you put it is how arguements start and perpetuate. Its amazing how completely I failed? Smooth, real smooth.

The point is, difference is the problem. Remember the Cold War? That was over difference. Remember the Second World War? That was over difference. They understood the difference between themselves and other countries, and sought to fight wars over them. My goodness, I'm actually bothering to argue with you! You obviously don't look at history.

No need to take a crack at me personaly. Difference isnt the problem. Difference prevents us going insane from boredom. Without difference culture would stagnate. Its the unreasonability to respect that difference that problems stem from. I respect muslim beliefs and I know muslims who respect my beliefs. Just so happens fundamentalists of religion and patriotism dont tolerate others differences as readily. I dont consider my views niave. Unless by niave you mean "threatening to your opinion".

By your current logic,I should be declaring a war on you right now. We differ on opinion, but I have yet to mail you a pipe bomb. See the flaw in your logic? Difference should be respected. Difference gave us baroque music. And difference in baroque gave us classical, which gave us romantic, which gave us impressionist which gave us modern music where Tori Amos decided to excercise the historic principal of difference to cover a song singing a song in a different perspective. Teaching tolerance.
