Medlen and Russell were no more heroes than anyone else in TF and FC today (or yesterday for that matter) -- they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Pity their family and friends.

eric didn't die from the impact, his dad had them pull the plug, because eric had told his dad that if something happened to him where he'd end up like the girl with the west nile disease,(because he would of ended up like her), to just pull the plug, so he did, eric's brain started swelling from the major vibrations from the tires, so thats what happened, eric and darrell will be missed

you guys wanna know what happened to darrel russell> the rear tire shreaded apart hitting the wing which caused the wing strut, (the poles that hold the wing up), and the strut went through one of the holes on the roll cage shield thing ang killed him instantly, very sad, thats why nhra mandated the full body cage cover, so that it wouldnt happen again

Actually when the NHRA safety team found darrel he was alive but died ont he way to the hospital and Melden could have lived but wished to be taken off life support but they were both on there way to being legends in the sport and died to early
