ra 8 seconds to work with. Rockets radio guys Gene Peterson and Jim Foley go ballistic with the call. This special aired on FSN on 4/14/2008. Remember: This wasn't a preseason game or even regular season game, folks. IT WAS THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS.

Believe it or not, this happened again two years later in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against Seattle. The Sonics made a heroic defensive stand despite the fact that the clock didn't start for a good ten seconds after the inbounds. This time, however, the scorekeeper got caught. He never worked another game for the Jazz.

The NBA uses a neutral timekeeper from a different city in every game, as stated after the Detroit timer keeper debacle yesterday. I'm glad the Jazz sent Houston home for the 2nd straight year. not back then. this was reported extensively when it happened, back then the home time keeper was employed in the playoffs too. it was a utah jazz employee. in fact, stuff like this is why the time keeper rotation method was put in place for the playoffs. i guess thats one thing you can thank the jazz for.
