Yes, you must save Phil Cassidy from dying, but you can also save both Phil Cassidy and Cam Jones. If you save them both you will get a slightly different dialogue at the cutscene at the end of the mission than if you only save Phil Cassidy.

If you mean autoaiming, I don't think that's available in the PC version (at least I have never used it).

No, you actually don't have to buy the Malibu Club (or do the Malibu Club missions for that matter) to complete the main storyline. However, if you don't do the Malibu Club missions you won't unlock the Phil Cassidy missions, so you'd be missing out on those.

fuck yes! i remember that mission... there was a glicth when I was playing Vice City. almost every time a was close to wining, did that idiot of a drive die, and then the mission failded.. But I still love the game. Good times
