I am not a "child ... ( 1 month ago by xiner)
I am not a "child of god." I am an adult of the universe. - Uru Vethhammer It has always seemed absurd to suppose that a god would choose for his companions, during all eternity, the dear souls whose highest and only ambition is to obey. - Robert Green Ingersoll Hell is the theological equivalent of "Boy are you gonna get it when your dad gets home!" - Jack Carlson The infliction of cruelty with a good conscience is a delight to moralists--that is why they invented hell. - Bertrand Russell
Science is ... ( 1 month ago by xiner)
Science is questions that may never be answered. Religion is answers that may never be questioned. Physics isn't a religion. If it were, we'd have a much easier time raising money. - Leon Lederman There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance. - Socrates So far as I can remember, there is not one word in the gospels in praise of intelligence. -- Bertrand Russell To argue with a man who has renounced his reason is like giving medicine to the dead. - Thomas Paine
"what's efficient" ... ( 1 month ago by xiner)
"what's efficient" and "what causes organisms to survive more easily" are not mutually exclusive, but they are not always compatible either. Furthermore, I think Dawkins argued very, very convincingly in "The Selfish Gene" that gene alleles compete fiercely for a place in the next generation's gene pool, and thus the unit of natural selection is really the gene, not the organism, although they yield the same result in most cases.

This should be sent to every member of congress, and they should be forced to watch it. This is the most succulent, useful info that the great minds of this country have to offer.

i like most of his ideas.. but i dont think its smart to spread mushrooms from one region into other countries/continents.. whenever people tried to introduce alien species into an other ecosystem -and the new species survived- it ended in chaos. props to him and his amazing work!

Paul is a true genius. I took a weekend seminar from him about 15 years ago. I grew mushrooms commercially for a few years but it isn't very economically viable. Watching this motivates me to start up again with a new approach.

Grow on a small hobby scale and experiment with different varieties and purposes. I live in the Mojave desert now as opposed to Western Oregon so that will necessitate a new growing environment.
