What's retarded, as you put it, is a grown man(?) reviewing these tapes. The shows were made for, omg, children. The only fans of Force Five around today are the ones that watched them when we were kids. Compare them to most anything animated from then and they stack up pretty nicely. The only shows from my childhood I am watching so I could re-enjoy them again with my child.But then again you would know better being a professional VHS tape reviewer eh ebert? Retard indeed.

Cheesy, yes. All 7 year old boys back in 1975 wanted to watch cheese on TV. And I LOVED these shows. Back when I was 7 years old I had no idea what words like "anime" and "manga" meant. Nor did I care. All I knew was this was on after school every day, and each day I had a NEW episode from a NEW show that was NOT Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver. Never once did I see a re-run of these shows. This stuff was all new, exciting, had explosions, and most importantly, was a cartoon.

Also, consider the cheese compared to what else was on at the same time on other channels. Hanna Barbera medley (Scooby Do, Flintstones, Herculoids, Spaceghost, Hong Kong Fooey), The Warner Bro. medley (Bugs, Daffy, Porky), and the Disney medley (Mickey, Donald, etc.) Comparing cheese for what it is, this stuff blew Hanna Barbera and the rest of them out of the water for excitement and animation quality. As you said, "a breath of fresh air".
