Best voodoo ever made but only to prototype stage, owned gfx cards 1-2years after when this prototype version were released.
This card never successed to production, because nvidia bought 3dfx.
Nah Matrox is not so unusual. i have one of 3dfxzone user or moderator sell him voodoo 5 6000 on ebay 1000 € and it works.

I remember one day loooong time ago (late 2000) at Compusa I was thinking about buying the 4500 to replace my voodoo3 3000 just to have true 32bit support. I decided to stick with the voodoo3 for alittle longer and wait for prices to go down. Month or two later 3dfx was no more. I was SHOCKED!

I remember seeing two or three voodoo 5 6000 on ebay back in 2001 or so. They were going for about $500. Should have bought one. Worht MCUH MUCH more now.

It seems to be a common misconception that Nvidia bought out 3dfx, which simply isn't true. Even this video and its description is misleading.
Nvidia purchased many of 3dfx's assets (not all), including some employees. They did NOT "buy out" the company itself. The company eventually filed bankrupcy in 2002. It is still technically a company, its own entity, though one which is just a shell of what it was, and is currently not doing anyt hing.

I used to have a voodoo 5 5500. The thing barely fit in my cpu case. I had heard many stories from people who bought the 6000 on ebay that they would have to relocate hdd's and cut their case just to make it fit. A monster and a legend at the same time. Voodoo at the time was the best gpu you could buy.
