Regardless of the degree of cynicism in which some of us may feel invested these days, I think all of us have watched that glorious sun rise on certain mornings and thought "it's such a good feeling to know you're alive."
I am forever indebted to and will always cherish those who have loved me into being who I am. Thank you, Mr. Rogers.

I read the rotten dot com library entry on Mister Rogers (I know, sounds weird but ti's true) and I wasn't sure that anything could make me happier to be alive than that article. Seeing this proved me wrong.
Greatness in this case is without doubt. I am without words.

Even when he's accepting such a wonderful award, he's not sitting up there talking about himself. He's reminding everyone that they are loved and special. What a wonderful, kind, selfless man. God bless you Mr. Rogers.

That part with the guy in the wheel chair was so moving I couldn't even cry. I was completely frozen while watching it. There was a moment of honesty that touched my soul. It was so real. That's what real television should be about. Yet we seem to have forgotten that, and that's a shame cause we'd be a heck of a lot better off if TV had quality again.

I'd say from 1989 to 1995 (Age 3 to 9) I watched Mr. Roger's Neighborhood religiously. I loved him so much. I loved the simplicity of his show and how much he cared about children. As a kid, I always learned something after watching an episode of the Neighborhood. I just wish I had come back and watched this last episode in August 2001 when it aired. I wish I could have given Mr. Rogers a hug and told him how important he was to me growing up.
Kings will come and ...( 1 month ago by Orenotter)
Kings will come and go, the vast majority of them consigned to an eternity of obscurity. They may have thought they were great, but they were nothing, really. Fred Rogers didn't think himself a great man, but people will remember his name for many more years to come, because he was one of the greatest philosophers of the twentieth century, and his teachings of love, acceptance and caring have bettered this planet.

I used to Watch Mr. Rogers from ages 3-8 years of age. It makes me sad to know he is no longer on this earth except through the wonderful shows he produced and the books he wrote. A true man of God. He will always be special to me.
