Great to see Harold Land, one of the all-time tenor greats. He's on 80% of the precious recordings with Max and Clifford, not Rollins. Later he would be the key player in the awesome Curtis Counce group. This is way past his prime and not his bag but something is better than nothing.

RIP Jimmy and Harold. I would disagree with caponsacchi, this was every bit his bag--Harold was a master all the way to the end!

Joey DeFrancesco is good, but as long as his left foot is cemented to the organ bench's foot rest he won't carry Jimmy Smith's torch.

I saw JS at the Catalina Jazz Club the year before he passed. He did the gig with Kevin Eubanks and Taylor. He hadn't lost a step when it came to having a great show or having a great time. The only thing more fun than watching him enjoy himself still tearing the ass of a B-3 was taking the piss out that young pup Eubanks. One of the finest nights of my life.

I also saw Jimmy about a year or so before he passed and he had not slow down a bit. I read many say he had slowed down quite a bit and needed a bass player. BS. He carried that show with no bass player as well as he did in the 60's. RIP Jimmy

I also saw JS @ The Catalina Club many times in Hollywood Ca. He played w/Phil Upchurch, Terry Evans, so many other great players. Those shows there with Jimmy were amazing and I'm so glad that I got to see him as many times as I did. I would always bring friends along and introduce them to this incomparable experience. The sound of the B3 and the twin Leslies will always stay in my memory. Nothing better..

I love this song. However, I have the LP version with Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery doing this song. Wes kills the guitar part!

Jimmy was my step grandfather. We are white and he is black. Huge racial conflict back in the day. I LOVE Jimmy. He not only was talented but had a very funny personality. He will always have a place in my heart. I miss you Jimmy!
