Nice simplistic conclusion of what "occidental music" has always been about. Try to discover some more, so you might realize that your knowledge about the matter is ridiculously limited... But I am sure you have always been a good and diligent student of your teachers... Peace! ;-)

Messiaen developed color clairaudience while he was in solitary confinement in a concentration camp during World War II. Afterwards he saw colors when sounds were made, & related them to human feelings. He quickly realized that birds are the world's greatest musician-artists, and began to incorporate their songs into his music. See videos of him notating birdsong in nature. This is not a typical musical composition; it transcends that concept. It is Music at service to Prayer & Contemplation.

This is, moreover, his own unique system, purposefully described in his "Technique de mon language musical", using a composition method of "limited transpositions". It makes his music instantly recognizable as his and his alone.

Messiaen was not in concentration camp, but at a so called "Stalag", a sort of prison camp. The main purpose with these were not extermination, as was with the concentration dito. He wouldn
´t have gotten out of the latter sort alive. This man was without one of the last centurys greatest composers, if not the greatest!
