no you are right. it was a golden era and GD were one of the last great britpop bands. I was a teen living in Manchester in the late 70's and britpop was the first time since then I was truly excited about an english music scene. I was a little old, but I totally "got it".

I'm quite happy to be described as shit. I have zero problem with that. With that in mind, I shall continue to describe Gay Dad as one of the absolute worst media-hyped bands to ever come out of Britain. I don't hate them, I simply judge their music as having the same emotional depth as the Pussycat Dolls.

I agree with all of the above, I thought this band were great but it was such a shame they didn't get the respect they deserved, and some of today's indie is alright but it just doesn't seem to give me the same thrill that these bands from the 90's and 80's did.
