I don't like the system but the fundamentals of the system has good purpose. To ensure that everyone is treated all the sam regardless of status in life. Obviously to ensure all things are FAIR everything must be controlled and shared EQUALLY among the people.
Obviously as we have observe in Eastern Europe and sadly still in Asia - is the people in CONTROL abuses their power.

It depends on the leaders interpretation of Communism/Socialism. There are bad kinds (N.Korea, they use a system known as Juche) and there are good kinds (Sweden, Venezuela, Cuba. The only reason Cuba is doing badly is because of the American embargo). Some South American countries at the moment seems to be changing to a promisingly good socialist system. That's good as many US corporations exploit the people there. Hugo Chavez is doing a great job and is not a dictator as the US media says.
