They are "flower base fillers" from Michael's Craft store - sold in the flower crafting section. If you look at Enkore's video "Sephora Inspired Brush Holder" he will show you how to do it =) Any type of beads or tiny stones will work. I used to use tiny seashells. Probably even sand could work - but that might get a tad messy if you're not extremely careful! You just need some type of teeny tiny objects to fill the jar that will assist in holding all your brushes upright.

MAC brushes r great but NOT the holiday sets. sometimes thier good but sometimes they suck. i guess the one u got sucked lol but if u invest on the full size brushes u'll be happy. trust me. great tuts btw

Umm, i did right in the beginning of the video =) They are all Maxine's Mop - and I stated the "bristle" size for each one in the video also! They are like 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 1"

I did just buy two normal MAC brushes =) The 239 and the 217. Definitely better than the holiday sets! They don't even look the same - as far as the bristles go!!

Well, the shaders are just for applying shadow on the lid/brow bone, etc. The crease brushes are very "compact" (for lack of a better term at 5am!) so that you can put a dark color directly into the crease area of the lid, without getting it everywhere else. MAC has a brief description of brush uses on their brush page - that might help a little?? Otherwise, yes, go to a MAC store, etc & ask them to explain what each brush does. Did EnKore do a tut on this?? I forget =)

1-10 how great are the Loew Cornell brushes compared to the MAC brushes.

As far as the 239 goes - since that's about the only one I have to really compare with, they are IDENTICAL. The loew-cornell handles are longer, that's it. Brush quality on both LC & MAC is 10. Seriously - they are the same!!!

lol...I didn't know you only had one brush to compare it to, watch the other brushes be completely different and the 239 and the 239 be the only good brush. But you're probably right. I'll have to find a place that sells them.

Well, I have a MAC 217, and I have a bunch from the MAC Holiday collections. But no one makes a brush like the 217 that I've EVER seen. As far as the other brushes, right now I pretty much use ONLY LC brushes to apply make-up. And they kick ass. Why buy 1 brush for $20 when I can get 5 or 6 LC for the same price? Take your favorite cosmetics brushes to the craft store & compare for yourself - you will see they are all the same quality.

No, but I've heard good things about the Costco sets. Are they still available? I watched someone's video a couple weeks ago (not sure when it was posted though) that mentioned them not being for sale anymore. I never got a chance to investigate that. LOL

It just depends on what area your located at. Plus they should get more shippments in. I would just call them before going up there and asking if they have any. I wonder if I can go in there for one day and just getting the brushes because I don't want to get a membership for just the brushes. If they're available and they let me have a 1 day guest pass I'll have to definitely get them and check them out.

Holiday set brushes are definitely not as good as the full size. The full size are handmade and the holiday sets are machine made.

Cosmetic brushes & Paint brushes are all made from the exact same materials. Some obviously are higher quality than others & feel better & last longer. It's like if you buy cheap crappy cosmetic brushes, they will feel rough & scratchy & will fall apart sooner. Loew-Cornell are high quality, many made with goat hair bristles. Only difference between those & cosmetic brushes is the length of the handle. Just go to your craft store & check them out for yourself.
