American Masters/Pete Seeger-The Power of Song has been playing on PBS stations this month and they have a short clip of it. Amazing documentary about an amazing man and the history of folk music! Where are the Pete Seegers today? We need them!

I saw Malvina Reynolds do a concert at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. A beautiful voice she did not have (probably never had) but held the large audience spellbound. Her husband was an organizer? for the west coast longshoremen and she had a PhD in English (!). In addition she was a communist. Being a communist used to be a good thing. Most of the communists I have met in Minnesota in the last 20 years are criminally boring people.
