I just don't understand why people try to make me and other multi-racial people choose just one particular race. For the record I am Irish, African-American, Meherrin Indian and Jewish.

you're right. and this is coming from i guess you could call me black person.
let people define who they want to be racially-wise. it's their choice.
and i feel so uncomfortable for people like halle berry or tiger woods who are called the first "black" this or that. i know deep down inside they want to say they are not just black but feel like they will hurt our feelings. i dunno. it does hurt kind of but it shouldn't matter. what's true is true.

It both an ethnicity and a religion... please educate yourself... all jewish people can trace their ancestry back to ancient judea... the land of the jews... what other religion do u know of that has its own physical characteristics... u can look at a jew (ethnically speaking) and tell that they are jewish you cant look at a christian muslim or buddhist and tell that they are those particular religions

I definitely agree. I'm mixed too, African American, Italian(Sicilian) and Native American, and people tell me all the time that I'm the "whitest black girl they've ever met" but in all honesty, I feel the same way you do. Why should I have to act the way society wants me to or that way that society THINKS i'm suppose to. I'm me, I know what I am, I dont need to act like anyone but me, and there is nothing wrong with being unique, thank you for saying something about this, people misunderstand.

so so true. i am also multi-racial though i look predominantly black, u can tell by my hair and some of my other features that i am mixed. my dad's side is spanish,white and black and my mom's side is indian and black. it's a whole "calalloo" like we say in trinidad, everything is mixed up. so i don't define myself either. i just am. does it matter whether i'm black, blue or purple anyway? i dont think so. i love how intelligent you are B, you have an excellent perspective on most issues. xoxo!

There is no such thing as multiracial. Unless you are mixed with a bunch of different types of animals. Do "fully white" people choose whiteness? Do "fully black" people choose blackness? Your race isn't genetic.

Irish, African-American, Meherrin Indian and Jewish all make up one beautiful person! B.Scott you are so beautiful! I love your skin, image, look, eyes, hair, you name it, etc.! May I also say: "You are so right!"? No one truely is a 100% anything anymore. People look at me and think I'm 100% white but I'm not. I'm more than 80% white, however, 10% of me is Native American and the other unknown percent is Black Dutch.
