I love both James and Jason, but I think the weakness of James is that he thinks about what actions he's taken long after they affect the band or his family. You can tell he feels really fucking bad about what he put Jason through, same goes for what he put Dave through. But if there is anyone in Metallica who is the most real it is James, very down-to-earth and hard-working, and he has had his issues, and dealt with them like a man. I respect him the most for all the shit he's gone through.

yea jason is a good bass player but rob is one of the best bass players you will ever see, he can play on a range just as far if not more than jason and is more dedicated to the music he plays than jason will ever be. look at his track record, look at who he has played with, he was with ozzy and black label and many other great bands before he was even offered metallica, if you've seen rob play and seen cliff play, you know he was the only person that could attempt to fill those shoes fully

I disagree. Rob might be a better metal bass player but overall Jason has a better sense of harmony and how lines fit musically in a song. Overall I say Jason is a better more complete bass player. It's for reasons like this you really can't say Player "A" is "Better" than Player "B" IMO.

it pisses me off seeing how James now knows what he did was wrong because it's fucking too late.Even though he had a good purpose (keep Metallica united), he did not even let Jason do the side project for a while to see if his fears would come true.I honestly believe Jason would have been enough for both bands cuz he has so much passion for music. He just had so many ideas that Metallica did not let him share so he had to somehow get it out of his system. To me, you're still Metallica.

I agree, though cliff is the greatest, i think jason was really good for them. it helped metallica stay on top cause of his energy on stage. rob cant connect with the crowd, he maybe a great bassist, but i dont think he connects as much as jason did.
