i wish Sly would reunite the original Family Stone before it's too late. music fans were already deprived of a Beatles reunion. if Sly doesn't and he probably WON'T it would be a shame. they revolutionised music in the 60's and early 70's.

I remember when I bought my first car in 1973 & one of the first twenty or so 8 track tapes I bought were Sly & The Family Stones Greatest Hits. Classic & I have the same one on my CD collection.

They did reunite, in a sense... I saw Sly and the Family Stone at BB King Blues Club on 11/20/07. It was great, sad, and disappointing at the same time. Sly was erratic to say the least, but when he sang, "If You Want Me to Stay", it was worth the large price of admission. I don't know how many gigs they're doing. Google their website

1971 Larry Graham ...( 7 months ago by loosestudios)
1971 Larry Graham and Sly were no longer on friendly terms, and Graham was fired in early 1972 and replaced with Rusty Allen. The band's later releases, Fresh (1973) and Small Talk (1974), featured even less of the band and more of Sly. The band's shaky reputation for not showing up at concerts caused promoters to avoid booking them, and after a disastrous engagement at the Radio City Music Hall in January 1975, The Family Stone broke apart completely.

The only other original members that played on 11/20/07 was Cynthia Robinson, and Jerry Martini.

sometimes artists forget that their time to perform and create is limited. you never know when someone will fall ill, be in an accident, or worse. Life is short.

First of all Boom ...( 1 month ago by lunigal)
First of all Boom Shakka lakka is very diff. from Lakka lakka . The use of such a verbal riff should be preceeded by much forthought and planning. If misused at any point in time, no matter the occassion it could cause the user to be thrown into state of confussion about his or hers own self expressions. I would advise..if you have to think about it too long, do not use this phrase. Then again i have found that blurting it out at folks with out smiles, like,Men at Work, it can bring BIG smiles
