You actually offended me with that comment. I marched The Cadets last year and I wished I could have marched with them this year, even if they are sitting in 5th place right now.
5th place doesn't mean they suck. Numbers don't say so either. And neither does the show. Those kids are busting their asses too much on the field this year for you to say that they (or Spirit) suck.

No doubt they the cadets today are wonderful sounding and look good at marching, when I said suck I referred to the shows. I personally enjoyed the shows then. Now they are trying to hard, for example the flipping around rabbit two years ago, the talking last year, and this year was not too impressive either. I think the cadets need to take a step back and look at their choice of selections.

I personally think the Cadets boast one of the top hornlines in DCI. Everyone always rags on them for the talking but how can you even really mind the talking when they blow you away with their sound? For both of these past two years the Cadets have had an amazingly powerful hornline and everyone seems too busy complaining about the narration to even pay attention to the badass HUGE sound they're putting out.

To be honest with you, that's how everyone generally feels. Everyone hears the narration and automatically jumps to conclusions, rather than praise another aspect of the show (like the brass)
And heck, narration will never be perfect (lessons Hopkins has learned). At least someone had to try it out to see how it might (or might not) work.
Oh yeah....I do want to say thanks for your compliment about our hornline (last year).

You may hate the show. Narration and all but please have respect for a corps that has been around since the 1930's and have won 9 world championsiops. The Cadets have an awesome corps and so much talent. They rehease all week and dedicate their summer to drum corps. They work so hard to achieve perfection. Yes there shows haven't been the best in the world lately we know that.But, please respect these kids who work so hard to do something that they love. This is what makes them happy.
