the best way to describe his voice is that he is an extremely delicate singer. Yes he's not as good as pavarotti but that is near impossible to reach. He is nonetheless a very passionate singer which is what counts.

I also listened to "Nessun dorma" sung by Pavarotti and I'd say too (though I don't really have a clue when it comes to singing, esp. opera) that he sings it better, technically, but I find Paul's version much more moving somehow. He seems to put more emotion into it. That's why I personally like his version even better.

Pavarotti is not the best example of a tenor. Try the same aria by Franco Corelli, or Mario Lanza (if you want emotion, Mario is your ticket. There's a video of him in a blue suit.)
