The god of Islam
does not cherish each individual person like a father does his child. Allah in fact reminds human beings that they are replaceable, and that if they don't do what he says, he will destroy them and bring other people in their place.
"If you do not go to war, He will punish you sternly, and will repl
ace you by other men." (Qur'an 9:39)
'Behold! you are those who are called upon to spend in Allah's way, but among you are those who are niggardly, and whoever is niggardly is niggardly against his own soul; and Allah is Self-sufficient and you have need (of Him), and if you turn back He will brin
g in your place another people, then they will not be like you. ' (Qur'an 47:38)
This of course influences the way Muslims view the world. This life, the 'hiyat-ud-dunya' is thus not cherished and appreciated at all. Muslims find attachment to be a satanic diversion, because it distracts them from
their goal, which is to be in Paradise.
Consequently, Muslims view women as serving two purposes: to satisfy a man's sexual appetite, and to bear his children. If a woman disobeys, then she can be replaced by another.
When Muhammad's wives Hafsa and Aisha made him feel guilty because he was spendi
ng more of his time with his Coptic concubine Mariya, the Qur'an reminds them:
'It may happen that his Lord, if he divorce you, will give him in your stead wives better than you, submissive (to Allah), believing, pious, penitent, devout, inclined to fasting, widows and maids.' (66:5)
When a Muslim
man dies, there is the following prayer to make on him:
'O Allah! Forgive him and have mercy on him and give him strength and pardon him. Be generous to him and cause his entrance to be wide and wash him with water and snow and hail. Cleanse him of his transgressions as white cloth is cleansed of
stains. Give him an abode better than his home, and a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife. Take him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave.' (Muslim 2:663)
