Yes, but that's happening bcause humans like to eat meat, which requires too much land being used to feed them. All of that land and grains can be used to feed humans, but each and every meat eater helps this planet keep rotting. Slaughterhouses pollute so immensly that it actually stands right next to the pharmaceuticals and oil companies. "Yellow", black, white are stable or declining. Problem is the brown race in both the Western Hemisphere and Far East. India will surpass China as most populous within 20 years. So if they begin to starve then it is not our problem I suppose. Population has tripled in my family's lifetime and more and more populations are becoming westernized.

I just read in USAToday, the USA population will be at one billion people by the year 2100. Since we have a higher fertility, birth, and immigration rate compared to that of Europe and elsewhere, it is believable. We've got the area geographically to support 1 billion people, but what I do questions is our resources for such a massive population--- jobs, healthcare, education, food, transportation, etc.

Think of any animal population that grows out of control. Take away the predators and they multiply until an unsustainable population is reached. Then either disease or scaricity will correct the situation, just like rabbits when the fox's are killed off. We are not superior.

Absolutely right. For 1 kilogram meat you invest 10 to 20 kilograms of plants. In other words, while you are eating a pound of meat you are in fact eating about 5 to 10 kilos of corn.
