The one thing you have to remember is that even though their salaries are high (in 2001, average household take home was just short of $100,000) everything else is, for example:
Petrol(Gas)/Diesel is around $2.50 a litre Beer is taxed very high... 500ml of beer in a pub will cost around $13 So unless you are going there for a job that pays a lot more than you are earning now, you may find that even though you are earning a bit more, you may feel worse off.
