We shall overcome--very moving she gets totally saturated with the song, even at the end as she walks from the mic the power of her voice is still overwhelming. This song was a staple of the civil rights movement, Mahalia worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King. She also sang Precious Lord at his funeral in 1968

At 2:33...the passion in her voice when she starts the very beginning is so..sureal..its like shes showing us the reality of things..."every thing gonna be all riiiiiieeete" . its that light airy nature she puts at the "rite" its like shes telling us with a smile on her face how one day..all this evil and bad stuff will be gone. this is a biographical concert. It's telling about her life and her singing. She's not singing at a funeral, it just shows her funeral toward the end. She was very ill in this concert. In some of mahalia's shows her singing was a little off because she was taking alot of medication. She wanted to keep going though her doctors told her to slow down. She had two heart attacks and diabetes and still went on this european tour despite her doctors orders and was hospitalized and passed shortly after

it amazed me at how she could sing and people would sit still in amazement to listen to her...that was anointing...we need people like her and Dr. Mattie Moss Clark even today, Music is not how it used to be, but these ladies help pave the way to where it is today...AWESOME!!!
