I believe he was supposed to do a real song, the producers of Midnight Special "trusted him", and he was singing these lyrics like that's what they'd tell him when he did a stunt(this song)...but it got a really good reaction from the crowd, which was not so intentional.

That's because it is dated. It would be like me going up on stage and doing knock-knock jokes. His style of comedy/art has long been imitated and has thus become commonplace. He was funny, and I find this video hilarious, I was just pointing out why a lot of people don't appreciate it. It's like the first wave of CGI films. When they came out it was like WOW! Now we're so used to CGI it's just not as impressive.

I really have to disagree. The only people out there doing anything remotely like Andy are Tom Green (although he's not as active anymore) and Sasha Baron Cohen. He might have been imitated (although by very few) but he was never duplicated.
