does any question the wisdom of Pyro having his final prep on the Polytrack at Keenland?? Why run on Poly when the triple crown races are on dirt? Some horses dont lke the poly and run very badly, if that happened with pyro that wouldnt be a good way to go into the derby. doesnt make sense to me anyone have another take on it?

Pyro was awesome as always, I was also glad to see Yankee Bravo running late. I've had my eye on him for a while and this was his first race on dirt. He seemed to handle it all right and he could be a major force later in the year. He showed plenty of room for improvement here.

Doesn't make sense to me too. I was hoping he would go in the Arkansas Derby. The trainer said he trained on it last year and liked it. Maybe he trying too copy Street Sense success.
Poly is suppose to be "easy" on the Horse. Thats why Visionier and Dennis of Cork are going to the Bluegrass.

Doesnt this LA Derby win make it 4 straight wins for PYRO ? Nice move between horses to win, but my eyes are on Court Vision when they get to Louisville, if he draws into the Derby. Not many horses win beyond 4 in a row.

This is his second straight win, third overall. Last year he was a fast closing 2nd in both the Champagne and Breeders Cup behind War Pass. His record in 6 races is 3-2-1.

If Pyro stays close to the leaders like this then max the gas, War Pass will stand no chance. Question is can War Pass take the lead after the gate. Pyro has no problems tailing behind while War Pass will fight for the lead, that would cost him lots of energy for the backstrecth.

running on poly as a final prep is used sometimes by trainers because it provides a great cardio workout (more so than dirt), but is less likely to bruise their feet, ankles, legs or anything before a big race. i personally wish he would stay on dirt but sometimes trainers choose the poly route. GO PYRO!

Didnt you say the same thing about Big Brown on another video? so all horses are like Bellamy Road except the horse you like. Except Big Brow was like Bellamy road because of cheap speed.....why is Pyro like Bellamy Road?? 1'1/4 is no problem for pyro, he can run all day, the longer the better.....

Big Brown = Barbaro??? ROTFLMFAO. Barbaro was never who could not rate. Prior to his Derby he had been covered up and rallied powerfully in multiple races, something BIG BROWN HAS NEVER DONE! Why do you think Dutrow picked the 20 hole for this colt when the 2 post was available Saturday????? They picked it because they know this green speedball can't rate or be covered. He won't hit the board and then the excuses will start flying. Big Brown = Bellamy Road, look at their pre-Derby PP's. LOL

This derby became impossable to handicap when big brown chose the twenty hole...this race becomes as bad a crapshoot as the 2005 derby and the ten grand exacta of Giaccamo and closing argument...box all 20 horses in the exacta for $380 and you may leave with five grand again.
