Many take it seriously and I think it is very scary for those that do. Do you believe in god and life after death?

There seems to be a trend of disliking intelligence and difference. If one shows an interest away from the cliches of sport, drinking, cars and celebrity, you are ironically considered by many, to be boring or nerdy when you do not care for the topics that nearly everyone else does.

Certainly I have no problem letting someone believe that itis their god that manages the selection process. But don'tdeny the demonstrable fact ofEvolution itself.Everyone apart fromthe bible thumpers know thatwe needScience to further our knowledge of planetary formation for our own survival on thisPlanet'as the only people in control of our destiny are us,whether we survive as a species or go theway of the dinosaurs, only our own understanding can save usThe more we know thelonger wewill survive

Indeed, it is scary. No, I don't believe in God or life after death.

Be an agnostic my friend. I want you to research Eastern religion especially spirtuality among the Hinduism religion. Did you know Atheism is a huge part of hinduism. Research more to the east and disregard the radicals of the west and middle east. If some of the science on god from the east makes its way west many scientists will debate the existence and mysteriousness of hinduism because it is very close to modern physics.

I have noticed any time I watch a science video concerning the origin of the universe, life or humans etc. the comments below are usually a science/religion debate...even though the video does not necessarily concern religion at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely look into Hinduism. But my question is: what does Hinduism offer that could not be gotten from a secular, scientific outlook? Or is it more that Hinduism (as you see it anyway) is a different way to see the same things?

It is rather unfortunate. There's so much to appreciate and take in from science by itself without religion trying to add anything to it. I find it sad that, even when presented with the elegant and mind-expanding truths that have been revealed by science, people still see in it the hand of various deities and phantoms.

They're deists, monotheists, atheists etc there is no one thing in that religion and they pray to different gods and some speculate that gods are the dreams of man. It is a very complex religion but eastern spirtuality has been studies and has evidence such as meditating and reincarnation. Christianity used to believe in re incarnation. Hinduism is made up of a lot and I don't quite understand it yet but from what I have read it is a skeptical/scienceitfic religion. Atleast some of it is.

Anthrowilderness. ... ( 3 weeks ago by winterstellar)
Anthrowilderness. That is because even many christtards understand that "if" science is right, then religion is wrong. One doesn't have to be an Einstein to understand that, I guess.. (By the way, have you read what Einstein really thought about christianity and "The Bible"? A video named *A Brief Message From Albert Einstein* shows you excactly that. It quotes those letters of his that New Scientist published recently. The quotes kinda f
¤#ks the christian myth about him being religious, haha..)

I'd have to completely disagree with this conviction that you either believe in science or you believe in religion. It seems most people believe they cant coexist when I believe they can. Wasn't Einstein Jewish? I could be wrong...
Ethnically, yes. He ... ( 3 weeks ago by winterstellar)
Ethnically, yes. He had jewish parents. But his views on religion, christianity and The Bible were quite critical. He was an atheist, even though many myths still exist about him being religious. The YouTube video *A Brief Message From Albert Einstein* quotes some of Einstein's private letters about such issues. The letters were also published a few months ago by New Scientist magazine. Science should be taught thoroughly to children, so they can make an informed choice later on religion or not.

I guess older religious people very often are "lost cases", but the children and young people still aren't lost to those ancient superstitions. And we shouldn't let them be,either.

I'll have to check that vid out. yeah I always thought he was religious, especially given his "God does not throw dice" quote. I'd have to agree with you on your last point; since I was young, the world, religion, and politics was taught to me by my dad who is a far right Republican, so naturally, I was too. About a year ago my views started to shift very radically, (thought my views on religion were basically the same). Given this I realize the importance of making independent decisions.

From what I can see ... ( 1 week ago by 000Elysium000)
From what I can see, the religious view is :
God created the universe God created life The universe and life is controlled by God Replace the word "God" with "nature", and you get what appears to be the scientific view. Nature created the universe Nature created life The universe and life is controlled by Nature From this, science and rel
igion are fundamentally the same. They just get manipulated by humans, which generates the differences.
People that believe ... ( 1 week ago by 000Elysium000)
People that believe in religion consider their religion to be the only true one, projecting some kind of superioty complex on people of other (or no) religions.
Societies (and in some cases individuals) consider themselves better simply because they have better and/or more technonolgy than themselves, and like the religious, project a superiority complex. Religion seems to be devoting oneself to something, while science seems to be about understanding so
mething.
