Listen, this new age thing is no cult. I hav read the book & I find it very interesting. I c it from a christian point of view & it seems very wrong. But truly its not! If u read the book u wil not b contaminated or such. I duno wat ur youth group tell u. ur church will warn against the enemy & scare u and make u beleive what they say. But u will never no bcoz u hav no idea wat the "enemy" is about. The book did not say 1 thing against religion. Its purpose is peace, wats ur religions purpose?

Oprah talks about how we are all like God and there are many ways to him?!! She better think again...SOON. A false god is any god other than GOD as described in the Bible(from a statue, money, to a living person). Buddhism has Buddha and other gods; Islam has Allah; Hinduism has 300 million different gods; and Judaism's god is one that requires little faith and lots of works. Any god that is different than God Himself is a false god, and there are many in the world today.

God is God. There is only one. You can call him/her/it what you want. It isn't a person with a name or a gender. God doesn't have a physical body and follow a racial profile. God doesn't have a beard or smite people. God is energy-consciousness and shares this energy-consciousness with us. God cannot be anything negative, like hate, fear, judgment. God is love. He/she/it loves us all equally. We all carry the essence of God in our soul and we all return to His embrace. Fear not.

You are right misskarleena. Man's influence over the translation of the bible introduced a God that is more like satan, than the real God. God is pure love. He would not forsake you and you can never forsake yourself. Fear and religious leaders created these images of God as a way to control society.
If you read A Course in Miracles, you'll be met with the most amazing work of true, pure love, that you'll realize Gods hand in the process.

I totally agree! God is love, and in the bible it says "love" is the highest commandment above all. Not that I totally agree with what is written in the bible but I think they got that part right. read the bible God is love is character is displayed in everybook of the bible all 66 books are about love u just have to open ur mind and ur heart to allow his love to control your life and to be honest us humans could not "completely" understand God's wonderful and merciful character we know lots about him but what we have 2 understand is that God is huge when i say huge i mean he can literately use the earth as his foot stool but thankfully god gave us his holyspirit so we know him better

Hi mj. I admit I have read most of the Bible, but not all. There are some lovely passages in it. I do believe man has corrupted the word of God, as I mentioned before. I dont judge anyone for their views, I just wish them love and forgiveness for their judgments.
My belief - when the Bible says man was created in God's image, they are not talking about mans physical body. They are talking about the soul (or MIND {not brain}) of mankind. That is the essence of God. His gift. But you're right -

God is not a human. God (in my mind) is more akin to a collective consciousness or universal energy that is the sum of all life, the creation of all that is. And if that is true, it would explain why "sin" is allowed without Godly intervention. Why God doesnt step out of the clouds and stop wars. Because universal energy or collective consciousness cares nothing for the condition of life, only for the expansion of life experience. Meaning, there needs to be as much diversity of experience as

And what I think a souls existance is here for, is to learn to unconditionally love & forgive man for all perceived wrong doing. Because once that occurs, the soul matches perfectly with God. I cant fully explain it without boring people but thats an overview. However, I still consider myself a Christian, even tho the label means nothing on the journey to love & forgiveness. We all get to God. :-)

yeah i get what u are saying but u have to find the right translation and get into god's word and that is hard today with all these satanic translations going around. yeah but the word Christian in todays world actually means a lot like when somebody who dont care nothing about God or his will claim to be a Christian just because they parents might be Christian they give other Christians the permission to be double minded and to a fake Christian it is a big tittle and real Christians take it very serious cause if u say u are a Christian u have to act like it or u will be held accountable for all those people that u lead astray because u lived a double life

I like you mj. You have a very good heart and its evident in your words. For a young woman, you are wise beyond your years & you are truly on the right path.
All we can do is love and forgive. In that, there can be no sin. some would tell us to fear God, and that is a terrible message. God loves us all.
I think you might think that A Course in Miracles isnt from God, and I welcome you to read it. It follows your heart and explains the double mindedness you speak of. You are truly wise. :-)

I agree somewhat. I think when God created us (be it through evolution or creationism, it doesn't matter to me), we were given what God wanted us to have: the idea and ability of free will and choice. Though I do not believe we are an essense of God, I do believe that it is possible to become enlightened by Him.
