For any and ... ( 6 months ago by TheMachine09)
For any and everyone claiming Elvis stole his moves from Jackie Wilson...quoting Mr. Wilson himself: "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis." A bit of an epilogue, Elvis hit big with his dances while Jackie was still a teenager in Detroit.

Stop lying. That ... ( 6 months ago by BergLarsen110)
Stop lying. That is all that is going to be said. Jackie was OLDER than Elvis! White men COULD NOT DANCE THEN OR NOW!! Elvis acted like a drunk man trying to shake piss off his legs. He was no dancer at all. He had NO rhythm. You could see that later in his career. Jackie NEVER lost a step. That is all.

Looks like they were contemporaries. They were both great!
These Wankers who ... ( 5 months ago by CrocodileHoges)
These Wankers who know nothing about Rock and Roll should know, Elvis not only incorporated R&B into his Style but Country as well. Also alot of the original versions were sporadic and not in any kind of tempo as his cover version. As far as him not be able to dance, you should of talked to his FRIENDS: Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Roy Hamilton.. and as far as copied hairstyles...it was Tony Curtis...another "Evil" White Man who copied Cary Grant, another "Evil" man!
Elvis was hangin ... ( 5 months ago by TubeGuest5178)
Elvis was hangin out with Blues singers WHO DON'T EVEN DANCE! LOL...he copied his moves from the black teens at the time. People can copy younger people because its the young kids that do alla da dancing. Elvis was deeply immersed into Black culture because he could relate to blacks (he was very poor). He's like Eminem is today. a poor white trash kid that made it big, but Elvis hit his highest pinnacle of success post humous.

When Elvis died he only had $4million. His ex-wife opened up Graceland and created the Elvis that even Elvis didn't imagine possible! A multi-million dollar EMPIRE!
Sweetie acceptance ... ( 5 months ago by lovelyat44)
Sweetie acceptance is the last thing many want to accept. The fact that many Blacks made music that was later copied, even down to the album covered of Wbites is something many will not accept. History is something many do not want to venture, so what they are able to see right now is the acceptance, but to venture into the past would be more devastating to many, that what they THINK was done by there peers, was done by Blacks. Many took credit for doing so. It's the pass. Accceptanceis thekey.

Any TRUE American ... ( 5 months ago by BiggCubb)
Any TRUE American historian will tell you that Jackie Wilson was Elvis' "inspiration". Elvis copied his moves, vocal tones, hairstyle, and all. At the time, black artists were viewed by record labels as niche artists who were only capable of limited sales. They believed that in order to make a major mainstream impact, you needed a white artist. The black artists were at the cutting edge of entertainment, so carbon copies with white faces were created. Sad, but true. Motown changed it all!

I think at this ... ( 4 months ago by ThreeD2007)
I think at this time we were seeing a wonderful and long overdue time of integration in all manners. Yes, tumultuous time - But all changes that are worth it go through a struggle. I think we were finally seeing an appreciation for each others' culture that were melding together. Both Jackie and Elvis had a great admiration for each other. Why can't we just appreciate that?
I appreciate that. ... ( 1 month ago by shadowtrojan)
I appreciate that. Im from Harlem and my favorite rapper is Eminem. I dont know, because I wasn't there (only 20yo)and I have not done any research, but word has it that Elvis adopted his style fro black artist. I dont think it matters though. They both made great music, and that's what I appreciate the most; great music

This is so much better than the material he recorded in the 1960's. I don't understand why he changed, he had such a tremendous vocal range. The boring 60's soul did not do his voice justice.

I stand stand corrected, jaysinmoussa, Higher & Higher is a classic example of Jackie's tremendous vocal range. Thanks!
