I happen to disagree. See, I thought the same way. But for the show to progress, you needed to lose a character. Marissa was that way out. With her character still in the show, you get the same plots and ideas in Season 4. With her gone, you get something new.
I'm a gigantic OC fan, trust me. I bawled when she died. I've made so many videos to her death. So, yeah, lol. But her leaving the OC was not that bad of a thing considering the outcome of season 4. I was very pleased :)
