Im a Historian and on a general level i thought there was nothing wrong with the movie. The lack of plot depth was largely due to the film focusing on the emotions of the characters. But i enjoyed the movie very much. But this track really is fantastic. I just cant stop playing in. Well done Vangelis!!

I saw the movie and this song is really something else. It almost captures the mind and places u in ancient times where u were free to conquer or be a true hero. Make u kinda wish u lived in those times to make yourself part of history.

the choir sings "Gloria" which is a christian motif... the song could be interpreted... in my mind it can be an hymn to God... it's as glorious as Handel's "Hallelujah".

Inaccuracies:
*When Alexander attacks Darius, it shows Darius running from the one major battle. In fact, it was Darius' troops who fled and it was over a series of battles. *Alexander had two wives, not one. He also had two children, not one. *Alexander's last words were "TO THE STRONGEST!" when asked about
who should succeed him on the throne. There were several other things, but the character limit won't let me say the rest in one post. There's two historical problems, though.

well friendo1231, when alexander is on his death bed, you do hear some of his generals say, 'did he say to the strongest?' while another says 'i think he said to craterus' so that is sort of mentioned.
And the narrator does say at the end, when he comes back to babylon that Alexander took on a second wife, much to the dislike of Roxanne. That said, i'm basing this from the Alexander revisited edition and not the theatrical version.

actress was a bad choice, i admit. Also Angelina Jolie was a bad choice for Olympias, at least for the older Olympias, they should have applied more make up at least to make her look older in the scenes where alexander was older.
