I don't know why people can't accept that you can have two completely different and great versions of a song.
After all, one of the marks of a 'good song' is that it CAN be covered. The fact that MR has done a great treatment is partial testimony that the material was good in the first place.
Then there is the added bonus that MR is a) dead cute and b) he is not a tedious, charmless old bore like Morrissey.
I've loved the Smiths since 1985 (TJIFA) but my god Smiths fans are an embarassment.
