Why should she? Her art is her music. What does being black have to do with loving the art? Her talent lies in singing not being black. And she's not full black for that matter. I bet more white people know her name and songs anyway. She supports music, which covers all colors. Sammy was famous for hanging out with a bunch of white guys. why would either one of them represent a group of people who put them down for not being black enough in what they love doing? which is to sing. you tell me.

It's great when people who may not know of Shirley Bassey stumble on to her website, AND recognize her amazing vocal talent. Despite the 'Easy Listening' style that many people may have not grown up with, deep down everyone appreciates a supreme vocalist like Shirley Bassey.
