it takes no musical talent to write shit that is vulgar, and rhymes, and some words altered to rhyme at that, such as flow for floor, and show for shore , then hire a dj put a mediocre beat to it and then then repeat the lyrics you wrote. no musical talent at all i would like to see any rapper write a song like California Dreaming, or stairway to heaven or any other great song with great lyrics.

You are absolutely right, but that's not exactly what rap is about - that's contemporary rap. Back in the days there were humble rappers that rapped about existential issues and it was poetry and the breaks and basslines were real art. But because it is so easy to make rap it developed into shit that we hear today. Listen to Breakadawn by De La Soul. It has a limited appeal but nevertheless it shows that there are artists that do rap for the art aspect of it and not for the ass-shaking. Cheers:)

Real rap used to have an emphasis on rhythm and groove (but back in the days there was a lot of stupid shit anyway). The lyrics attempt to put different accents and hardness to the overall groove and you can find a lot of musical ideas in that - I am not a rap fan, but I know how to appreciate so I can look objectively at it, and I can bravely tell you that rap can be art, even tho many rappers today aren't artists and their "music" is utter garbage.

rap takes an extreme amount of talent. i would like you to try recreate the phenominal pieces of rap music out there. i admit that some rappers these days just suck but there are a lot of brilliant minds behind the catchy lyrics and geat melodies, beats, etc. I love all kinds of music. Such as rock, hip hop, oldies, jazz, crunk, a capella etc.
