Tell a friend:
Well I guess we can't all be sheep.
I certainly wouldn't address him as 'old man' or accuse him of acting in the same manner as a slave owner. That's simply disrespectful, no matter who he is. But then again, I'm not a Hippy. I'm sure in your world calling people old and labelling them as sheep and slave owners is a completely nor
mal thing to do.
The defendant was assertive, I give you that, ... but so was the judge. Tough luck.
What I know for sure is that a defendant not knowing enough about court proceedings could greatly hurt his own case when trying to defend himself. You know how in the movies the lawyer of the opposition always jumps up and shouts 'objection' when an unsuitable question is asked. They'd be all over
him with that.
After Judge Hoffman refused to postpone the trail, Bobby asked to defend himself.... Again fair enough, right???? Judge Hoffman wanted Bobby to use the attorney of the other seven defendants. It was not Judge Hoffman's job to decide if Bobby could defend himself....He could advise him not to do
so, but he cannot deny him that right.
Anyways, I'd say mr Seale would have been better off listening to what the judge had to say, rather than interrupting him in the middle of a sentence.
