i listen to both and like both...they are different men in the same line of work....
and if dave coulda cleaned up it coulda been different maybe but i think ulrich would have always doubted him...
either way...they are all still alive and dave is still making good stuff...if metallica could come away from the therapists they could probably surprise the hell outta folks...if we a ll just forget that last offering...

Dave's solo was definitely live. But Marty's solo part even had the exact same tone as on the album, also the clean bluesy one before the end. Flawless and same tone - sounds like overdubbed. And for the different speeds: recordings can easily be sped up and slowed down (preserving pitch).
