You can appreciate music without screaming your head off. Surely, if you appreciated it, you'd appreciate it in such a way that it can still be heard by other people, who want to hear the music, not the screaming. Surely, they would appreciate it more, by actually trying to listen to it.

Yeah! These guys rule! They kinda remind me of another band I recently discovered called Project Parallel. They have a video called "The Distance". Very cool music and video, check'em out.

Doesn't have to be happy to sing along to, really. It's got a catchy beat and the words are easy to remember, so it's easy to sing along with. This song just makes for a much more morbid sing-a-long.

I don't think the decemberists are the kind of band that think their audience has to appreciate them by sitting quietly and absorbing every single word- look at them, they're in it for the fun! Everybody has a good time, and joining in, so someone must be appreciating it!!

Please do tell me how they're creepy live. I mean have you ever been to a concert? Some bands have no stage presence, not so with the Decemberists. They're one of the best acts I've ever seen.
