Is there any way to hear the note in the MIDI note editor while you click it like in Fruity Loops? Because that really helps, and is there a way to change the 'note velocity' to something different say... 'effect impact'?

Ok, real instruments are cool and all, but your "real instruments" music will never be recorded professionally without the use of a Digital Audio Workstation like ProTools are Ableton Live. You need DAW's more than they need you I can assure you.
