This musical special celebrates the songs of the revered pop-rock group of the late 60s and early 70s. It blends full-performance clips, rare home movies, exclusive interviews with members Michelle Phillips, John Phillips, and Denny Doherty, and vintage footage of the late Mama Cass Elliot. The hit songs featured include Monday, Monday, Dedicated to the One I Love, California Dreamin', and their version of the Beatles classic Nowhere Man.

Nah. Horrible analogy. Ringo was in fact a very, very good drummer. He played PERFECTLY for the music, never obtrusively or badly. He was never a drummer who made a point of showing his chops, he was a drummer who identified and played the best drum parts possible for the sake of communicating the song's essence. Any real musician can tell you how much skill that takes to do well. You could not be more mistaken about Ringo's talents. The litmus test? How GOOD does every Beatles song FEEL?

Also- Ringo was sought out by the Beatles and thats why Pete Best was replaced. Ringo played with a band called Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. The Beatles played the same gigs, as them. They heard him play and wanted him in the band, and asked Ringo if he wanted to join. The rest is history.

Listen to Ringo Starr on "Come Together," and then listen to the covers that other bands have done of that song. None of the other drummers come even close to matching the fills Starr created for that song, even though some were much more "technical" than he was.

Not really. There's some astounding rap out there. You just haven't found it, or maybe you're not interested in discovering more than the garbage on the radio or pushed by MTV. I'm sure there are plenty of rap fans who won't take a moment to listen to the M/Ps, either, so I guess you're in equal company...
