The Hobo is a likeness of my Grandfather, who wore the Coverall's, Baseball Cap, and had animals and was a dreamer. He was not a hobo, but you can't make everything fit the lyrics.
Song was written in 1885 and was included in the Movie "O' Brother Where Art Thou". This is an animation depicting a POSSIBLE scenerio that could come from the lyrics. Accordingly the music is considered Public Domain (Written 1885).
