I think that was just fit into the "Me and My Shadows" movie, at that point, for story purposes. I've never read or heard elsewhere that she made another such call during a board meeting with the CBS execs.
She actually made that call when Norman Jewison was backstage with her wanting to talk about the TV special in 1962 (as per this biography)...

Take it from this old codger- there are some things that almost ALWAYS occured in front of an audience- Jayne Mansfield's dress strap breaking and boob popping out, Joan Crawford scrubbing her floor because good help is impossible to find, Tallulah Bankhead sitting on the toilet, Tom Cruise kissing his current wife at the time, and Judy Garland calling JFK, or even better, receiving a call from JFK.

she was so good in "I Could Go On Singing." If any of you have yet to see it SEE IT. Also "Judgement at Nuremberg." Great acting

She was wonderful as "Ms.Hoffman"in "Judgement At Nuremberg" for Stan Kramer. Judy was nomenated for another Oscar but she lost again!

What Mr.Jewison..Judy second and last producer/ director of her CBS TV musical/variety tv show said is sadly true. That fink Jimmy Aubrey who poorily ran CBS TV went out his way to ruin Judy's show as he ruined Mark Wilson and he almost ruined Red Skelton's tv show.

Network executives haven't changed much in all these years. Now they are often younger, but just as arrogant and although they lack true wisdom, they are sly enough to keep climbing and wrecking havoc. We've now got 300 chanels and nothing to watch other than PBS.
