It is interesting that China actually created and continues to enhance the DL's reputation and his power to influence the world - in driving him out of Tibet, they gave the world a wonderful gift. Had they not done so, he would still be an unknown, obscure monk. For 50 years he has been able to share his wisdom with us all.
