Usually, if the savant has extreme ability in one area (Mozart/Rainman) he will be severely socially impaired. Not necessarily retarded, because the IQ will normally remain above 70 (which is mild retardation). But I have conceptualized what Phil has said about evolution. It is in our mind's power to do these extraordinary things, but we can't - Some can. That's the potential our mind has but hasn't achieved, and that's what Phil is saying. The ability is there, we simply haven't tapped it.

My view on religion is there isn't some invisible man in the sky who loves us but if we do bad things we will burn for the rest of time. Come the fuck on...if that's true 99.9% of the population is going to hell. Show me solid proof that there is a god...like him appearing in front of me and like, making puppies out of spiders or some shit, THEN I'll believe. I don't know where you're getting that logic from. We are parts of different groups and I feel that it is wrong for any group to shove their religion (or beliefs of any kind) into someone's face. That may be unacceptable, but it's perfectly fine for people to express their beliefs as long as they respect others' beliefs. You can bash atheism as much as you want as long as you're not telling anybody what to believe.

Seeing as how Atheism is just as much a belief as other religions, it seems wrong to equate Atheism and Common Sence together. Truth is, there is more scientific evidence and logical thought that points to God rather than No God. Accordign to the scientific knowledge we have, the universe could not exist without God. Stars could not have formed. There is not scientific basis to prove evolution. All of this requires an infinite energy sourse and a controlling agent, AKA, a god.

Well I would have to disagree Phil. Religion may not be right but nothing really is. Religion is for people to believe in things they can't explain. Other than aliens.(Of course) But people don't really know anything of why they're here or what life means so they need something to explain it. One example is atheism is for people who can't find any explanation, so there isn't one. Not saying it's wrong, but it's an explanation to things.

I take religion seriously. I am a Christian and I do believe that there is a God. Don't worry I'm not going to preach in a comment box, but I do feel that my opinion matters.
