I agree. So many artists feel they have to dumb down their lyrics and their sounds to appeal to public. I understand it gets money, but I believe if you do like Regina did, she still made what she wanted to make and she appealed to a broad audience. Her songs actually have meaning they aren't about stupid boyfriends leaving her to go be with their "gurl".

I don't think anyone answered your question. Help a brother out is a figure of speech that most people would expect a young black male of the 'gangsta' variety to say. It is common to call young black males of this types 'brothas' so her saying 'wont you help a brother out' is just a comical/ironic way of her saying help me out or something. It could be a some saying that the subject of this song says alot.
