Ok...
so here's the question
which emotion do you find easiest to write about in a song?!?
I'm just really curious to see what emotion songwriters find inspire them the most??
Also... if you're a SINGER.. do you prefer to sing about sadness or happiness... which emotion can you get your TEETH into when performing??

Hi Jennifer,
I don't think you should be concerned about why you write certain types of songs; just accept your writing style. Some of the best songs ever composed are the saddest. Also remember your arrangement and production style on Youtube is very acoustic. This in essence makes songs more thought provoking and emotional anyway. If you were to produce the tracks slightly faster and change to a major key they would sound a lot happier.

hey jenny i have only created a few songs but i find sadness really easy to sing about. i dont know why maby i can relate it to my life so its alot easier.
p.s the song isnt cheesy and youve got a great voice and you are really talented want to see you on this years x factor :)

Hi Jen! I feel the same about writing songs... It's much easier to write about things that hurt, than things that feel good. At least that's true for me. I believe that the more "real" that people are (as opposed to the "fakes"), the more they express ALL their feelings, not just the "cheesy" good stuff, like you mentioned. And although it would be great if everything was good, the truth is, ... it's not; and we need to express that. (as songwriters, that is.) I really love your songs! Bye! :)

tat song is so not cheesy you should write more happy songs but have them similar to tat one like the tune and stuff

I do agree with you. For me atleast, I am a happy person, but my song writing tends to be a little on the gloomy side. I find it easier to write about something that has happen to me that brings out strong emotions...and not all of those emotions are happy. Just keep doing what your doing girl...its simply breath taking listening to your voice.

Love. Hands down the emotion from which most of my writing flows. Its not always happy, and not always depressing. But pretty well its always love. Usually romantic love, but not always. Take care.

OK, midnight here in New Orleans, and I've been playing your songs all night! I will be having a SERIOUS word with my girl for posing You'll Find Me, haha! To answer the question, when I write, it tends to be dark, but thats because I have more fun exploring that. Most people will tell you I'm a happy soul that just likes putting smiles on people's faces!

I'm with you here, I honestly find it really difficult to sound sincere about happy stuff. Sad or angry songs are much easier to write

did you ever take singing lessons? because i really love singing and i write a LOT of songs but i dont think im that good of a singer even tho i love it so much! so i was wondering if u ever took singing lessons to get this good!!

yes,i like this one. I've checked out a few of your videos now,and your definitely worthy of some sort of recognition for your song writting skills,good work my friend. you should double up on the last chorus though,and raise an octave to give the song that UUUMMMFFF it deserves.

I'm not often in the mood for songwriter, but most of the short stories/poems I write I can (and for some I do when I feel like it) transform to a song text. The main emotion for them is mischievousnesses (checks spelling, \o/ correctly spelled in one go!), I don't really have a reason other then I really enjoy writing such texts. That, and I live by the motto: A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, it might annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

im exactly the same. when im in a gloomy mood i like...get all poetic and thoughtful! the happier songs always seem to turn out as cheesy love songs! lol! though iv got a couple of different ones these days. for ppl who want tips with lyrics..start with a title...helps if its bout something on ur mind. put that title in the centre of a spider diagram and brainstorm around it..words that rhyme and cool phrases to put in..then go nuts and write! beauty of writing a song is there are no limits!!

lol nowadays i just write...takes practice of course...and im by no means a pro!! just how i do it.
