Correct. The original lyric was "robbing people with a zip gun," but the suits at Mustang Records made them change it. It sure didn't hurt the song. Originally written by Sonny Curtis and recorded by the Crickets, post Buddy Holly.

The audio on this video is from the original "hot mono mix" featured on the original 45 RPM record that made this a hit. Today's version heard on iTunes is the remixed stereo version which is not original and sounds different. See my channel where I post the original 45 RPM record.
